Visitor Information
If you are planning to visit Just As You Are (JAYA) for the first time, here is some information you might find helpful.
Where is Just As You Are located?
We are in the JAYA Center at 3845 North Druid Hills Road (suite 101), just north of Lawrenceville Hwy in Decatur. Just one block east of North Dekalb Mall on the corner of N. Druid Hills Rd and Oak Tree Road.
Are you a church?
To many the word “church” carries a myriad of emotional responses ranging from guilt to condescension. There is an unfortunate perception that church is a place of religious condemnation and legalistic rituals. If this is what church means to you, then “no” we are not a church. However, the word church actually comes from a Greek word that means assembly or gathering. In the beginning this assembly was a place of support; a place of growth; a place to gather strength for the challenges life brings; a place of discovering relationship with God and others. If this is your definition of “church”, then “YES”.
Either way, no matter who your are, or where are in God’s beautifully diverse creation, we invite you to come and experience the difference of JustAsYouAre.
Who is welcome at JAYA?
Anyone who is seeking a closer relationship with God. Many who attend JAYA have been disenfranchised or hurt by traditional church or organized religion. They find Just As You Are to be a safe and loving environment where questions are always welcomed and friends are made. You will find people of all race, age, sex, and social status. Single, married, gay and straight. All are family and all are welcome!
What should I wear?
Dress comfortably. It is a very casual and relaxed cafe/coffee house environment, so wear whatever you are comfortable in. Don’t worry about what you wear, just come and experience the difference.
